Interested families are encouraged to visit on Sunday, March 1 from 1-3 p.m. to learn about Dickinson’s International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) opening in Fall 2015.
There will be a presentation about the program and tours of the school. Staff members will be available to answer any questions. Free refreshments will be provided by the Dickinson Support Association.
The IB MYP will serve as a feeder for sixth through eighth graders into our IB program, a world-recognized rigorous course of study that focuses on a multi-cultural approach.
The magnet program has room for 150 students, 50 each in grades 6 through 8. The program will open to 9th and 10th graders in the 2016-2017 school year.
IB MYP students will be required to wear uniforms and will attend school in a separate wing of the school, completely separate from the high school. The high school and middle school will be on different schedules as well, with the IB MYP students arriving and leaving later than the high school students on separate buses. All clubs and activities will be separate as well, with the exception of allowing 8th graders to participate in athletics.
