Visitors from Germany, new guidance counselor, National Unity Day

UnityDayPosterSocial studies and English teachers from Berlin visited the school Oct. 9. The visiting teachers came as representatives of the Checkpoint Charlie Foundation, which was created after the fall of the Berlin Wall to maintain friendly relations with the United States through educational exchange. German teacher Darryl Skrovanek hosted the group of nine educators during their stop in Delaware.

Madeleine Reitemeyer has been hired as the new junior and senior guidance counselor; replacing longtime guidance counselor Elaine Scott, who retired in late August.

On Oct. 9, members of the school showed their support for National Unity Day by wearing orange colored apparel. This event is sponsored by the PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.

Students interested in traveling to Italy during spring break should contact world languages teacher Gina Travalini.
