On Monday, the Red Clay Consolidated School District broke the world record for tallest tower built of interlocking toy (LEGO) bricks, setting the bar at 112 feet, 11 3/4 inches. The tower was assembled at Dickinson from sections built by every school in the district. The new world record is getting national and international attention, as seen in this post on the Red Clay Facebook page.
Fall sports practices entered their first full week and several sports began scrimmaging.
Thursday evening saw the New Student BBQ, an opportunity for students and families new to the school to find their classrooms, meet some of the teachers and coaches, and have a bite to eat. The DSA had a membership table exhibiting some of the new Ram Spirit Wear! One of the available colors of short-sleeved t-shirts is pictured; gray and light blue are also available, as are long-sleeved t-shirts and hoodies. More details coming soon!
Next week will be even busier as freshmen start school on Monday and all grades attend Tuesday through Thursday. School will be closed Friday and Monday for the Labor Day holiday.
