The Medical Society of Delaware’s Campaign for Kids initiative, “It’s OBVIOUS,” is hosting the second in a series of free public education sessions. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 7-8 p.m., Child Psychiatrist Mark S. Borer, M.D., DFAPA, DFAACAP will present “Bullying and Social Aggression in Delaware” at the Medical Society of Delaware Conference Center located at 900 Prides Crossing in Newark (directions).
This presentation will address the definition, forms of, and statistics on bullying, characteristics of bullies and their targets, effects of bullying, provide strategies to help and advocate for victims of bullying, as well as provide helpful resources. The presentation will discuss bullying prevention in schools and tips for school personnel, coaches, as well as guidance for parents.
The MSD Campaign for Kids “It’s OBVIOUS” focuses on seven critical issues that affect young Delawareans and families. The initiative encompasses teen, parent, school and health care professional education presentations by experts on the focus areas of obesity, bullying, vaccinations, intelligence, opioid use, underage drinking and suicide. Each lecture helps to facilitate understanding of these issues.
